Landscaping Completed (almost)

Today we completed most of the landscaping... just in time for the storm of the decade! We'll see how it holds up to all the rain they are predicting this week. It will be a good test of our design for permeable surfaces.

The entry steps in the front yard are designed to divert rainwater into the surrounding permeable landscape. All plants are drought resistant and will eventually require little or no potable water. All in all, the landscaping will require 73% less water than a conventional residential landscape. LEED-H credit awards for water-saving landscape design are plentiful, so we should be well-rewarded when it comes to our final credit calculations. CLICK ON PHOTO TO ENLARGE
