SOLAR SYSTEM COMMISSIONED TODAY!

This morning we turned on all the switches for our solar PV system installed by Sequoia Solar of Solana Beach. When the sun gets a little higher in the sky we should be pumping excess electricity back into the grid. We'll soon be getting our monitoring system running which will provide us data on performance and production of the solar panels. We received notice yesterday from SDG&E that they will be changing out our meter to a "SmartMeter", and it will be interesting to see how this new meter interfaces with the PV system. Update to Post: We produced over 7-kilowatts of energy on day-1 for the system. That rate is equivalent to 54% of our current daily electricity usage at our home on Grandview Street.
